When she turned, Gaspard let out the breath he'd been holding in anticipation and fear. He took slow steps toward her. "You sounded wonderful tonight," he said in opening, trying to keep his voice light. She hadn't turned and gone, yet, and he supposed that was a start.
When he reached her, he kept his hands to himself though he longed to reach out for her. Gaspard felt suddenly like an animal, caged and just bursting to be let free.
