As little as Quinten knew about children, he would never blame Quin for how they behaved. He knew enough to know that it was perfectly normal for toddlers to be fussy. And he kind of wanted to stupefy all the idiots that shot his twin disdainful looks. Like they had never experienced this with their own children...
It was a little difficult for him to figure out how to behave right now. Their birthday was something else entirely, he couldn't even really say why. But he had never, not even once, felt awkward then. It always felt like no time had passed, like nothing out of the ordinary had ever happened between them. He really wished they could patch things up and he would do all that he could towards that goal.
He held out his hand to Felix, some old, bunched up paper in it from his pocket, while his free hand moved his wand and mouthed an incantation, turning the ball of paper into a small wooden bird that could flap its wings and chirp.
"I don't mind at all. I sort of desperately need the distraction myself." he added with an awkward smile. "Deadline tonight and my head is spinning. This'll do me a world of good."
