RP. Melinda and Viktor
Who: Melinda & Viktor
When: 6. July 2009
Where: Viktor’s house
What: Melinda needs a vacation
Warnings: TBD
With a deep sigh, Melinda wiped her hand across her forehead, effectively smearing a streak of dark chocolate and cherry frosting along her hairline. She was tired, so tired, but too restless to sit down. She needed to find her inspiration, an alternative to what she had done for years. She needed get this right, but instead her plethora of ideas turned into a line of not-quite-right cupcakes, and it had been like this for a while.
Today it was the dark chocolate and cherries that were bothering her. A customer had left the newest issue of Witch Weekly at Sweet Nothings, and she had read Oliver’s interview. It shouldn’t have bothered her, but it did, and that small part of herself that she truly didn’t like, the petty part that was jumping with joy that karma – or rather Romilda Vane – supposedly had dealt him what he had dealt her those years ago, was making it difficult for her to look past the fact that Romilda Vane liked the decadent dark chocolate and cherry kinds of treats. She wanted to send one to her, but the Black Forrest she had – and had always had – just seemed… wrong. It was plain and boring and the same old-same old. She could do better than that, especially in a situation that called for more.
After she had closed up for the day, she had brought a selection of frostings, creams, and cakes home in the hopes that Viktor’s soothing calm and the children’s joy and happiness could spark her creativity. She had tried, she really had tried, and she had enjoyed the few hours she had had with all three of them before first Misha and then Tsveta had been off to bed, but her own fatigue was sure to have shone through as well. That was when she had retreated to the kitchen, and now she had a selection of cupcakes, a variation of combinations of chocolate and cherry cake with chocolate, cherry, or vanilla frostings and creams, decorated with ten or so versions of cherries.
And none of them were right.
“I need a new menu,” she murmured. To Viktor, to herself, to the kitchen.
