Emilia groaned when Benji squeezed them and shrieked when Wishes followed up by lifting them – or at least her – enough for her feet to clear the floor. That was when it settled in her; that feeling of being home. Benji and Wishes were what was left of her family, and now they were both here, in the same place, and everything was completely different, but so, so right.
Benji let go of them, but Emilia wasn’t ready. Not just yet. So as Benji headed off towards the kitchen, she wrapped her arm around Wishes’ waist and rested her head against his shoulder. “Tapas and Chinese!” she called back to Benji. “Everything else will just be a bonus.”
