It had taken by surprise when he had called her earlier today, the day after they had met.. Or rather, re-met. Her surprise had only been upped when he had said that he wanted to take her on a date, today. That meant that she didn’t have time to go buy a new outfit, which was one of her worst habits. She had dug through her closet for hours, trying to find something that would make them late to any dinner reservations that he had planned for them. She had to talk herself out of wearing a more ridiculous outfit that she had found in the back of her closet, she’d have to see if that worked for later. Instead she had gone with one of her favorite tops and a pair of skinny jeans that came down to spill into a pair of trainers. The whole idea with this outfit was that the more skin, the better. She had her leather jacket on hand to take with, just in case she might need it since the top not only exposed her stomach but also her arms.
When she heard the knock at the door, she gave a glance to the clock in her kitchen that read exactly 6pm. “He’s on time, that’s a good sign. Spontaneous but prompt.” She was talking to Nancy, who was laid out along the back of the couch. Little did ZJ know, the orange long haired cat was already pregnant. Currently though she was stretched out, little chin on her front paws, as her big eyes watched her mistress walking to the door. She didn’t make a mad dash to the door though, she just stayed on her perch.
Hazel eyes met his when she opened the door, soft pink lips stretching into a bright smile. “You get extra points for being on time.” Then her eyes moved to look over what he had worn for the night, to be sure her outfit was appropriate. Her smile grew when she saw the flowers, eyes snapping back up to his. “Those are beautiful, are they for me or Nancy?” Flowers were one of ZJ’s favorite gifts, while she didn’t have a garden of her own, she loved flowers. The next tattoo that she had planned out was for a flower, she had been researching different ones though for the tattoo. He had just given her another flower to contemplate. He was winning more points and he didn’t even know it.
She stepped aside then, letting him into her apartment. She would need to put the flowers into some water before they left so that they’d still be there in the morning. She already knew just where she would put them, on her bedside table.
