Re: Draco + Daphne
Draco wasn’t always the best about listening to other people and their feelings. He tended to plow through them and do whatever he wanted. It was only within the past few years that he had grown up enough to learn to take someone else into consideration. He still plowed through other’s that didn’t matter, but Daphne mattered. Whether she knew it or not. He frowned when she finished, turning his head then to press a kiss against her neck.
“You’re ridiculous.” He said in a soft, playful tone. “The last thing anyone needs, really? You could have two hours, two years, or two lifetimes before it catches up to you. You said it yourself, you don’t know how long you’ll be around.” He then brought his hand up from her waist so that he could take her hand in his. “The most important thing to do with your time is enjoy it. Spend your time with only the people that make you happy, wear only things that make you happy, don’t worry about anything else. You can be as selfish as you want. The world is your oyster, don’t waste it worrying about what ifs. The worst what if already found you,” Much the same that the worst had found him. Draco knew it wasn’t in the same league, she was dying and he just turned into a dog once a month. There was no contest but he knew that feeling. That helpless feeling.
“I promise that this helpless feeling, like everything is completely out of your control, will go away. It just takes a ridiculous amount of time and even then, it doesn’t go away. Just nags you once in a while..” He tried then to twirl her by using the hand he had been holding to do so, hoping to achieve getting her to end up facing him so that he could kiss her. He didn’t know how to explain that he knew that feeling, where your entire world had changed in a night and yet somehow the world kept spinning. Everyone else continues on with their night while you live in torment. He really wanted to get his feelings across but he had never been very good at that. He had never been able to say how he really felt about anything really, and he found it hard to find the words again now. He wished Blaise were around, he’d know the perfect thing to say.
