Re: Calypso+Kit+Astoria
That expression on Callie's face reminded Astoria of something that had seemed to get lost in everything happening over the past few weeks: Callie was still young. Which, okay, Astoria was hardly ancient, but she was five years older than Callie and had more experience in certain things, and she did know that Ginny was Callie's first girlfriend, so she was probably still trying to sort out her head in everything, and very suddenly the anger flew from her.
Callie looked like she was breaking, like she could cry at any moment, and panic fluttered in her chest at it. No! This was not how things were supposed to be. As she'd reminded herself earlier, Callie was her friend first, and she was definitely in the very small circle of people Astoria would defend with her life.
Without warning, Astoria reached out and grabbed Callie's hands, enveloping them between her own and stepping closer. "Don't apologize for being with Ginny, Callie. Being with Ginny opened the door for you to experience this whole other side of love and passion and relationships, and you deserved that." It didn't occur to her that she might be apologizing for still being with Ginny when they had spent the night together. All she could see was that one of her dearest friends was hurting, and she had to push aside her own issues to help if she could.
