Re: Calypso+Kit+Astoria
Kit rarely explained. Generally he preferred people to make their own assumptions, regardless of how it reflected on himself. As long as his family wasn't threatening to kick him out or something, he was pretty willing to go with the flow.
"Yes, but most people attracted to me do," he pointed out. It was something about the money or the killer good looks or something that did it. Whereas he needed something firmer than a surface glimmer of attraction before he acted on anything, and generally speaking he moved at glacial speed and had thus resigned himself long ago to the life he had. It worked for him. Right now the balancing act was a bit hard, but it worked.
He chuckled. "So noted. I'll make sure the birdie has a heads up if I decide to play that up. They're such a fun group of people I really should feel worse about it all, but I'm not the one coming up with all the ideas!" He smirked, though, because he had contributed a few at least. He thought Genevieve might be in on the whole deal by now too, though he couldn't be sure.
Kit shook his head slightly. "No, like I told you, I'm pretty damn sure they're not actual dates," he said to her. "I don't think it's a fluke, love. Not if you're all giddy over the prospect of her." Calypso read things a little better than that at least. "So stop that. She can be a good girl and still be with you, so you're going to go talk to her and sort things out and I'll get you both drinks or something." And play matchmaker, maybe. Or even distraction. It was his most common and successful role in life. "Besides, you know I like bad girls like you," he said, easily slipping back into mischievous teasing mode. Truth be told he didn't really have a type -- he'd not real-dated enough to truly have one.
The music started to finish, and Kit made sure to lead her into a complicated set of steps he knew she could do that ended in a deep dip to show her off to her best advantage. It was in part a strategy to keep her from arguing with him. After all, she couldn't argue while executing those steps! He smirked at her again then, and levered her upright, pointing them immediately toward the bar and Astoria so she still wouldn't have a chance to argue with him.
