Something seemed to relax in Tate, he didn’t know why he’d assumed it was someone that she might be dating. He didn’t know why he’d gotten that pit in his stomach but it had gone away when she’d explained just who was coming. Some old man that had been her nanny when she’d been younger. He had had a nanny when he’d been growing up, he still kept in touch with her now. She had grandchildren or something now, he couldn’t remember exactly how many but she was older. He assumed automatically that Emilia’s nanny must be older as well, since she was just a bit older than him.
“Dance lessons and cuddle piles?” Tate asked with that lopsided smile, laughing and shaking his head. “Your friend sounds significantly more interesting than mine. The only one I can really boast about is Olivier, he’s on that show.” He maybe knew the name, as well as the entire first season. He’d started watching it just to be able to support his friend, it had gotten out of control at some point and he’d gotten sucked into the entire thing. He was now invested and even had a favorite or two on the cast.
“When will he be here? You’re sure there’s nothing I could get him?” Tate was actually a bit nervous for this old wizard to approve of him. He knew Emilia didn’t have much family to pass judgement on him so it made it all the more important that he made a very good impression with this Aloysius Darling. It was such a beautiful name, reminded him a bit of the family from Peter Pan.
