A wide, amused grin spread across David's face and he laughed deeply before nodding at Emilia. "Good. At least once more." He was actually looking forward to playing for her, a hint of excitement at what he may choose to play rushed over him when she'd smiled.
Part of him could understand wanting to have scars removed to erase the memories attached to it, the badges of honour - he'd known some agents who had done that but it never sat well with him. David just preferred to live with them, they were part of who he was, what he'd done for his country. True, sometimes they did bring back flashes of unpleasant situations he'd gotten himself into, but they also meant he'd been able to get out of them, and he was alive. "I do have a few of my own... which you've probably seen. There are more but, those are stories for another night I think."
He'd risen from his seat when Emilia mirrored his desire to head out of the pub and take a stroll, even pulling her chair out for her when she'd finished her drink. "Oh, I'm sure there's a few things I could tell you that you don't know." A crooked smile was all he teased with, holding the door open when they'd reached it and offering his arm.
