Oh, he knew their mother wasn't particularly sentimental, but she did care about each of them. And perhaps it wasn't her who had saved their things. The point was that they were saved, and he had done the thing, brought her panda bears, made the attempt to bridge the gap between them.
She'd enjoyed shocking him with that tidbit, he could tell, and he narrowed his eyes at her, though there was no heat in them. "I wouldn't dare," he promised. Oh gods, he'd forgotten twins run in their family. He wondered then if he'd end up having twins if he ever found a witch crazy enough to settle down with him. "Well, I don't think it's normal to anticipate twins, so you probably shouldn't be too hard on yourself." Not that he thought his opinion would count for much, but it was out there.
