He had to admit that he wasn't entirely certain what had prompted all of this-- or what Teddy had done to muck things up this badly. Either way, there were pieces to pick up, Ewan leaning in to press a firm kiss to her forehead.
Noticing that he was... still holding the cayenne (and feeling rather silly in the process), he slowly moved to set it down on the counter.
"So... what happened?" Because he'd known all of this before now. Just not what had wrecked her today. "And..." more importantly, "what can I do?"
