Hello, Mummy,
I'm sorry about not dropping by of late, but work has been just dreadfully busy, and evidently, whenever I'm not at work, I get to deal with ridiculous rumors spread by the Prophet, but on the bright side, Trace is finally moving in.
I wanted to actually ask about Auntie. What were her first symptoms? I know I shouldn't worry about this stuff yet, but I figure it would probably be good to know what early warning signs to look out for.
Give Papa lots of kisses from me.
Love you bunches!
Daph
Daphne, Darling,
You know I respect how much you value your independence, but this obsession with work is truly ridiculous, and, if I may add, getting out of hand. Those rumors wouldn't be the end of the world if they were true, you know. Those Wood boys have money and status, even if they're not part of the twenty-eight, and at this point, I think I'd settle for knockoff purebloods if only you. Brought someone home! By the time I was your age, I already had had both you and Astoria, which meant that I had a four-year-old and a one-year-old running around, and frankly, I got started late! This is your responsibility not only as a woman, but also as a pureblood witch. You and your sister both owe it to the entire wizarding community not to just let your wombs go to waste when you should be married and pregnant as we speak.
That is good news about Tracey, of course-- I can only hope she starts finally pushing you in the right direction, but judging by her dilly-rallying around as a working woman, I do have to doubt how good of an influence she'll be. I dread that she might just further enable you to continue your present lifestyle... at this rate you'll end up a spinster!
Do we really need to talk about your aunt, though? You know how Papa hates the topic, so I didn't want to bring it up, but if I remember correctly, the one symptom that seemed to plague her throughout her life-- getting worse over time, of course!-- was fatigue. She felt weak, she tired more quickly, and ultimately, as you know, she had to use to walked to get around. She was lucky the curse didn't truly hit her until after she finished giving birth-- I hear that has been quite the hazard in our family in the past...
Anyway, say hello to your sister from us-- she's as bad about visiting as you are sometimes-- and please do drop by. You know we would both like to see you-- maybe even talk some sense into you ourselves!
