Alec was calm and composed and Theo wasn't used to such an unaccusative form of questioning; he knew that Alec was a good therapist because Blaise would never have sent him in their former Housemate's direction otherwise, but he hadn't expected this. The idea that Alec might actually give a crap about what he was saying, might actually come close to picking out the rotted cards of the truth caged under Theo's ribs, those that Theo kept so close to his chest their true nature was forgotten and warped even to him - that was starting to panic him.
Having to elaborate on his usual allusions was focusing his attention away from that worry thankfully, which said a lot. He'd gotten through most of his life without telling anyone anything because he used words like weapons to deflect, twist, parry and disguise, leaving people confused or angry because he never said anything plainly.
He tried to behave as though repeating the incident didn't bother him at all, with some degree of success if only because he didn't tell the whole truth and was rapidly locking down his emotions into the cold box in which they lived for this very reason. "They hit me." he said, a little distant in his recounting, removed from it as though it had happened to someone else. "Blacked my eye, tore my lip up, gave me a couple of headwounds. Bruises, abrasions, some cracked ribs." He lifted a hand to his mouth like he wasn't aware he was doing so, like he was lost in thought instead of just lost. "Lost a tooth." he mused, wondering if he should revisit the scene and try to find it; a lot of nasty magic could be performed with a tooth in the wrong hands.
He seemed to realise he'd lifted his hand when the chill of his fingers touched the corner of his lip and he lowered it, looking down at it like he couldn't connect it with being his own. "I dislocated some fingers." he added, light, like he was just talking about the weather. "Broke some of them." he frowned a bit now, flexing the digits, curling them into a loose fist and out again. "Blaise had to pull them straight so I could fix the other one. I wish I hadn't put him through that." he was pensive, looking down at his hand without seeing it. It was unsure if he recalled that he was in the room with anyone at all.
