Rose glance up at Lance and snorted, ”yeah, you wish,” though she didn’t stop to talk to him. Instead she continued past him, passed by the counter and into one of the rooms that was for library personnel only. This wasn’t to be done in public, even if there weren’t that many people there this time of day.
Closing the door behind them, she cast a locking charm on the door, then thought better of it. They might need to get out of there in a hurry, so once the charm was lifted she cast a ward on the door to keep anybody from entering unannounced. “Ant, go lay down,” she told the wriggle when he once again nudged against the bag with the lamp. Once he did, Rose looked at Lance, biting her lip before she pulled out the lamp.
“Is this what I think it is?” she asked him as he placed it on the table.
