Who: Nora, Alec, Roger and Nora's NPC Ex Travis
What: Nora did not realize something
Where: Starting in Diagon Alley
When: [BACKDATED] Monday evening, after this, March 6th
Rating: High - Trigger warning for abuse
Nora was well aware that Alec would be indisposed all day at work, and she was also well aware of who he was working with today. She had decided early on to not text him and let him have all the concentration he needed, and she busied herself with things at work. But she was only there until 3:30, and that left… who knew how much longer until they would be done. Well, fuck it, she hadn't been shopping in forever, and Alec had mentioned getting new stuff for the apartment. She saw no harm in buying a few new outfits as well as at least looking at furniture. Obviously though, she wasn't about to make a decision without Alec liking it too.
It had all started out pretty normal, but once the early evening hours started to set in, Nora began to notice something… off. A feeling, perhaps, one she just couldn't shake. Everywhere she went she felt a strange, prickling sensation at the back of her neck, and nervousness began to wash over her for reasons she couldn't comprehend. Eventually, she decided it was too much and began to head home. She didn't get very far though when she heard the steady footfalls of someone behind her. That wasn't weird though. This was Diagon Alley, there were people about still, so someone taking the same way she was wouldn't be an out there occurrence. But why did it feel so wrong?
Taking out her phone, the glow of the screen helped calm her nerves a bit, and she opened up her messages right as she felt someone close behind her. Too close. She whipped around, suddenly face to face with a man twice her size, and looking up she finally recognized who it was as dread swept through her.
"You… can't be here," she said flatly. The restraining order wouldn't allow it! The thing was magical! How could… and then her stomach sank and Travis vocalized her thoughts out loud.
"You forgot to renew it, Lenora," he said, his voice soft and sweet, too much so that it made her sick. Reaching for her pocket, his hand darted out, grabbing her wrist and pulling her into a side alley, out of anyone's direct line of sight.
"Come on, Len, you don't have to be like that. I just want to talk, really!" his voice sounded so genuine, but Nora wasn't a moron. She knew better. She could also smell the alcohol on his breath, and the way his pupils were dilated alerted her to the cocktail of drugs he was probably flying high on.
"Travis, there's nothing to talk about. Please, I just want to go, okay? You don't need any more trouble in your life, I don't need it either. Let's just part ways right here before this goes any further. You know it's the right thing to do," she said calmly, even though her heart was absolutely racing.
"Len… you just.. I don't think you understand something and I have to get it out, okay? I know you're mad, and I'm sorry about all of that I just… I just love you so fucking much, you know? And you make me so angry at times and I know I have a problem with my temper, but I don't like living without you. Even after all of it. So I wanted to come here and just ask if we could please start over? Try again? I miss you so much." His eyes twinkled as he looked down at her, his grasp on her wrist still tight, almost painful. His words were lies… from the way he was holding her, she knew that. Nothing was going to change a man with a temper like Travis had, nothing.
"Look… I really, really have to go, okay? I appreciate everything you said, but this just can't happen. Please just leave it at that and move on. You'll be happier…" She couldn't tell him the real reason, but it seemed he wasn't satisfied as his grip tightened and his eyes darkened.
"Why, Len? Why not. Why won't you give me an answer?"
"Because… I've moved on, Travis. Just like you should. I have a different life, I'm a different person. I just -"
"You're fucking someone else now, aren't you?" His words were short, venomous, and now he was starting to bruise her wrist. Fuck, she needed to get out of here.
"Travis, please. You know this isn't going to end well for you. Just let me go and walk away. We both can. I won't tell anyone I saw you, we can just move on -" He slammed her back against the brick wall behind her with such force that Nora was worried he broke something as all the wind was knocked out of her. At the very least, she cracked her head, and her vision swam for a moment, making her want to vomit.
"Say it, Lenora. Fucking say it," he breathed into her face.
"Travis… I… I'm seeing someone else. This is over, it has been for a long time. Now let me go," she began to struggle, but he was so much bigger than her. Like everyone else in the entire world was.
"Well.. as fucking cliche as it sounds, Lenora Travers, that's just.. Not something I was equipped to hear today. And not fucking acceptable. Because as I stated, I love you. And I can't live without you. And we both know I'm a selfish person. So.." Before he could finish Nora kneed him in the groin, causing him to release his hold as she made a run for it, tearing out her cell phone and sending a series of quick texts to Alec.

He grabbed her from behind and yanked her back into the alley before she could send anything else…
