He shrugged one shoulder easily. "What would you like?" he asked. He needed to get to know her, her likes and dislikes, so he could know what to bring in as a surprise or a gift. Especially for the times he did get temperamental or growly or asked for long hours because something important was going on. He always apologized with gifts and such, food, tidbits. He did use words, but he prefered that method when possible.
"It's on me, so please choose whatever you prefer." Most people tended to learn he was serious about that. It wasn't something he did all the time, though he had tended to get Patty a meal every week or so. Some days it might be a pastry and coffee and some days a very expensive meal. It varied wildly depending on the both of them.
