She wanted to say no outright, because she didn't want to ruin his sleep schedule. But it would be awful nice, some days, to have him curled up behind her. Her sleep schedule had been odd ever since the war. Though work rarely allowed her, her favorite, safest time to sleep was when strong sunlight came in the windows in the afternoons or evenings. The light didn't keep her up like it might some. "Maybe sometimes?" she ventured unexpectedly.
She snorted softly. "Okay, so I can try to be in control to help you, and you can help me be pregnant. I think that's a good deal?" she said, a smile grin creeping over her face.
Dora was immediately a bit nervous as he mentioned writing his family. It was irrational, but she still somehow completely expected them to hate her. Hate her for breaking up with him so long ago. For what she'd done during the war. For all of it. But she didn't let those worries completely overwhelm her this time.
But some part of her uncurled when he said they wanted them to get married at the house. Her fingers twisted her bracelet in a nervous movement she didn't bother to conceal from him before she let it go and smoothed her hands over her growing belly. She bit her lower lip softly and looked up at him. "They don't think I trapped you into this, do they?" she said, knowing what some people would say, though she personally didn't care much because she knew that he had proposed before they knew about the baby, that he'd wanted to marry her all along. "They're okay with me?" Her worries were evident. She didn't want his family to hate her.
