I'd like that. She'd actually said that, Dora's words slowly coming back to him as he smiled, the gesture impossibly bright. "Me, too," he answered back, his own words just as soft as her own. "Is it too soon for me to go around saying that?"
It was strange, what a shock he'd been to her system. A part of him worried that that was why she was nervous about them not being a good match-- that she knew he was too different for her, too... ordinary. Lord only knew that she'd never been with a guy like him before. What on earth had made her want to stay with him?
"You have no idea," he admitted, laughing through his grin, his eyes searching hers for a moment, as though willing the future to simply materialize before him, answer all the questions in his mind about what would happen, and if she'd be happy with him if she actually decided to say yes on the day he asked.
"Lord, now you'll have to move your things on top of everything else... I'm the worst boyfriend, aren't I?" he grinned, clearly joking, Alec happily carrying her into the kitchen to set her down on the counter so he might have his hands free, the back of his knuckles gently stroking over her cheek as the fingers of his free hand ran into her hair. "You're so beautiful. I'm just so fucking glad you said yes in the first place."
