Who: Alec and Nora What: Post 3rd date Shenanigans Where: Walking back to his place from dinner When: January 12th, later evening Warnings/Rating: Real High NSFW
Nora's emotional state as of late had been a very uncomfortable game of back and forth. And quite honestly, she was sort of tired of it. Everything was so much easier when she was numb and apathetic, zoned out on pain potions and pretending the rest of the world didn't exist. But when someone else was in your life, and that someone else happened to be a trained psychiatrist, well... A fear that she would turn into a patient instead of a partner kept nagging at the back of her mind like a fly that wouldn't go away.
But Alec was stupidly sweet. The previous evening he had just held her, something Nora hadn't experienced in a long time. And he seemed to have some kind of misplaced faith in her she just frankly didn't understand. Part of her was screaming to get out as quickly as possible, because no one was that understanding, that sweet, or that kind without some sort of huge character flaw. But the other part of her accused her of being cowardly. Maybe both could be correct?
Either way, she knew it wasn't the type of date she should dress up for, but she couldn't help but at least look nice, donning on a very simple red dress before heading to meet Alec.
Dinner had gone very well, and on the way back to his place, his hand had slipped in hers. She wanted to ask him if that was an accident, if his hand had somehow gotten lost, but she bit her tongue, instead trying to be a normal human being for once and enjoy the moment. And not only enjoy the moment, but have enough confidence to figure this wasn't a joke, or he wasn't suffering from a stroke and had gone temporarily insane.
"Thank you for dinner. And sorry I ate so much. I sort of can't help myself around food, is all," she admitted with a shrug, looking over at him with a small smile.
