Lancelot gave a soft laugh, nodding his head. She liked music, that was an interesting one. He didn’t know how to do the other two though, hell he didn’t know enough about it to be able to really ask any questions either, so he focused on the two he could. Music and reading. “I was taught to play a few instruments from my parents. My brother picked it up fairly easy and loves his cello, I however was only good with the sax.” He gave her a smile then, “I haven’t played in a while though. I need to dust the ol’ girl off at some point. I’ve just been consumed by a new book I picked up about ancient Egypt, more specifically King Tutankhamen. I’ve got a love for history books, have you read any..” And his eyes gave a quick glance around the room before he leaned to say softer, “Muggle books before? History books, that is?”
“Of course I would.” He had a confused smile on his face, eyebrow perked curiously. He didn’t understand all of her shock, surely she’d dated before? He couldn’t remember if they’d talked about that or not, he’d have to ask later because he was almost certain that it wasn’t polite to ask in front of the kids. “Ice skating is one of the absolute best winter activities around, it’s the bees knees.”
"I mostly play string instruments," she confessed. "Piano, violin, guitar, mostly." But she could play most of the string family, including the cello, as well as the basics of the harp though her small hands would always hinder her there. "I used to know the basics of the flute, but it's been a very long time since I tried anything like that." She was unconsciously relaxing a bit as she spoke about something she loved.
"Not many of those," she said with a slightly shrug. "I have read a fair amount about Ankhesenamun, Tutankhamen's wife and a witch in her own right." There was a fair amount of history bandied about the powerful woman. "I used some of the writings on her to create my secondary set of runes that I work with most often." She worked with the most popular Nordic runes most often, of course, as did almost everyone, but she had two secondary sets -- Celtic and Egyptian.
She flushed again and looked down, embarrassed that he seemed confused and curious. She didn't know how to explain without sounding like an idiot that she had no idea what she was doing right now. She had no idea how to date, or deal with the butterflies in her stomach, or even talk to him without being so shy it hurt at times.
