Re: Kevin and Teddy
"Why, if we were both staring at one another, it does beg the question of why this didn't happen sooner than now," Teddy said with something almost like a sigh. "Really, it's down to my fellow professors, isn't it?" Of course it was. Really, they wouldn't exactly frown on Teddy for his lack of professionalism, but they would be thinking it. It was not exactly becoming for one to start flirting with a ministry representative when you are all supposed to be having a meeting, was it?
"With the ears?" Teddy asked him as though all dogs didn't have ears. Still, he had also accompanied his question with his hands making triangular shapes that he placed atop his head as though that might look something like the dog in question.
"Well, you are special, being a muggleborn. Really, I've never thought that there has been enough research into the issue. Here we are in a world where magic picks and chooses the people who may harness it. It skips over hosts in families where magic has always been in their heritage, hence the word Squib, and it can miraculously end up in someone like you. I've often wondered if the magic the Squib might have had is instead given to a muggleborn who might be able to use it better, but... well, I don't know. That is the honest truth. I would need to see birth and death records too, since I've often wondered if the death of a wizard can mean the magic he held might pass into one who would otherwise have been born muggle. It's a problem, really, that the Ministry does not keep records on Squibs and the like, as though they're unimportant."
