"Could have, you're right," Teddy conceded, smiling some, "But I'm glad we didn't. I'm glad they were late. It made the entire meeting far more interesting than it usually is. Although, saying that, I usually spend my time gazing at you in any case, so there truly isn't much that is different about it, is there? Although... I suppose you know about it now."
And of course, Kevin now knew about his mild obsession with gingerbread... well, his generally excitable, slightly obsessional nature altogether, and there was no way that he might have found any of that out before the meeting had taken place.
"So... while we're here for propriety's sake, my dear Kevin... tell me something about you?" he asked, leaning his head against his hand and gazing at the other man as he saw their dinner plates being whisked away and their glasses being refilled quite by magic as the entire table awaited the dessert course.
