RP: Christmas Charity Event Who: Everyone (whether you reserved a ticket or not ;) ) When: December 18, 2008 - Evening Where: The Leaky Cauldron What: A chance to give, celebrate and make merry! Warnings: TBD
The day before had been a flurry of activity. Beginning with Hannah, Megan, Jasper and Liesl all flung to the four corners of the Leaky Cauldron and reciting the same spell at the same time to expand the indoors of the Leaky to accommodate all the guests. It was a handy bit of magic that Hannah and Megan were able to pull off for large parties. However, this party called for all of them to cast it together.
Afterwards, the Leaky resembled a very large church. All wood and brass, elaborate Christmas decorations covered most of the walls - tastefully of course, Hannah didn’t want to go overboard. There was holly, ivy, evergreen boughs, wreaths, garland with red and gold ribbon. Of course, there was also a tree. It was the biggest tree Hannah could get and it had real candles enchanted to not catch anything ablaze, berries, gold bells, white and red poinsettia all nestled into the branches.
Everything was ready - extra security around the donation boxes and at the door to take tickets. The whole pub smelled of Jasper’s heavenly cooking and Hannah had a lot of volunteers come forward to help with the event, she’d only needed to hire a few extra hands to help with the food and bar. The tables were all set and there was even room for a small dance floor. There were Christmas carols playing softly in the background and some of the volunteers even sang along when they knew what song it was.
It was time to open the doors and Hannah came down the stairs in her red dress, her hair down and curling at the ends. She smiled at Ernie and gave him a soft kiss when he joined her at the bottom of the staircase, looking handsome as ever. Hannah then gazed around her transformed pub, deciding there was something missing. “One more thing…” she said under her breath and walked toward the Christmas Tree. There was always one spell Hannah could cast really well. She could make it snow whenever she wanted. One quick spell and the flakes started to fall slowly and land on the boughs of the tree, and a simple spell would keep them there after the contained squall. Hannah was beyond pleased and nodded to Johnny to open the doors, welcoming the guests.
