Make sure to leave a comment before applying on the wanted character list, with your email, your name, and what character you wish to apply for, and if they’re original. There will be a list of taken canon characters, and one of most wanted. If your character is canon and not listed on either, please request them in the comment, and I will post them under the “held character” page.
Basics
1. All Players must be at least 18. No shit. Have your age listed in your REGULAR profile, as I don’t expect you to create a player profile until you’re approved. If you do not have a profile, please state in your initial comment that you are at least 18, and in your application as well. 2. Please only apply for 1 character at a time. You can have a max of 2 characters, and then, if you play them rather well and remain active, then you will be permitted to apply for more upon moderator discretion. 3. Trolling will get you booted off and reported 4. No drama. If your characters get into a pissing match, be my guest, but if you get into a squabble with another person here on the comm., leave it for your regular journals. If it’s over something with the RPG, bring it to a mod to work out. 5. OOC Posting is not allowed in character journals or the RP comm. Please post OOC things in the OOC group only. (Exceptions would be small notes on entries to give credit for any song lyrics posted, etc. Please be reasonable).
Activity
1. Journal once every week (even if it’s just replying to comments) and log once every three days. This does not mean that you have to start a new thread, just even replying and participating. 2. If you cannot meet this, or must take time off, leave a note in the OOC comm. It’s really okay. Real life gets in the way. I myself go to work and school full time. So I definitely understand! 3. If your activity is slow, you’ll receive challenges. These challenges can be anything from a spell going awry and changing your characters sex for a week, to whatever else characters propose.
Mod Controlled Characters
A few characters will be controlled by mods. These will mostly be teachers (such as McGonagall). The list of these characters will be included in the wanted character list. If you wish to take over for the mod, please contact that moderator. It will be up to them if you need to fill out an application. Mod controlled characters will have limited background to allow you to fill in the blanks.
Under your application where it says “Have you read the rules”, please write, “Merlin’s left jewels, I’ve got pink nailpolish on!”
God Mod’ing
Will not be tolerated. You’re not allowed to control other people’s characters or make up their past. No duh.
Related Characters
Characters who are related (such as in the case of Sirius Black and Regulus Black) must have coinciding pasts. If Sirius Black is claimed first, then whoever applies for Regulus Black must read the characters background information and go from that to create their own. The same goes for Bellatrix, Narcissa, and Andromeda. And any other related characters. If you wish to make any changes, please indicate as such in your profile, and then speak it over with the related character.
Contact Info
If you do not want your contact info displayed openly for other characters to get a hold of you on the Contact Info Page (friends locked) a link to your first entry on your profile page and label your first entry as “OOC”. On that entry, you will put any quick information about yourself under a cut, or anything you think is important to know, and from there, any other character who wishes to contact you about potential scenarios, questions, etc. can communicate with you through comments. This is the only entry you can really be OOC in on your character journal.
On your main page, please include information about your character, including physical description, age, sex, sexual preference, whether your character is a student or teacher, what house they belong in, if they’re a position of authority (Head of House, Prefect, Headboy or Girl, etc.) and a brief history, as well as blood status. Include also anything else you think should be known, so people aren’t blindly guessing about your character when they interact with them.
Disclaimer:
After you have been accepted, the first thing you must have in your journal is some sort of disclaimer explaining that it is solely for profit free entertainment purposes only, and that you are not intending to represent the original character or infringe on intellectual property of the proper owners. You know the deal. Treat it like a fanfic. Make it legal.
Log/Main RP Journal
When working in the main rp journal, please include the following: Who is involved with the scene (if open, then state) Where it is When (time of day, what day it is) What it is about Is this open for other characters to join? Is it complete? Rating
Log text under cut.
RPG journal is f-locked. Please include tags. Tags will be listed, and can and should be updated as an rp progresses. They will be character names (such as Sirius Black, James Potter, Lucius Malfoy, etc).
Icons/PB’s
I don’t require ONE pb. Just make sure any icons containing people LOOK similar and like how you describe your character. Also, all players who are students are required to have at least one icon that states their house (a Gryffindor icon, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw). These can be any type of icon, so long as it’s obvious what house they are in. These are to be your default icon, but are not required on every post.
Other?
Just be nice, use common sense, and don’t be an asshole.
Oh, and we do use adult language, and sexual scenarios will ensue. (At least I hope O.o LOL!)
Also, please remember that your characters who are pureblood are most likely pagan (think back to the rituals of the past, magical holidays, etc.) so it’s not a bad thing if your character has some sort of connection to a god or goddess (in fact, it could greatly increase the tension).
Also, muggle born’s, or halfbloods, are more likely to have family lives with parents who have a more muggle religion (Christianity, Judaism, Islamic, etc). If a character has some sort of past relation, please represent it fairly. I expect this to be used on some levels, but please do not use this as a forum for bashing any religion.
Now finish off that sentence I told you earlier under the “Have I read the rules” with the sentence, “It’s not pink, it’s lightish red”.
