Prompt #30: Saint Valentine
Russandol really couldn't care less about Valentine's Day, whether there was a real Saint Valentine or not. He thinks it's ridiculous that humans go to such extremes on just this one day to express their love for each other - or for those who are alone, to get depressed - and spend ridiculous amounts of money on greetings cards, chocolates, tacky balloons, teddy bears and over-priced red roses.
"Why can't people say they love each other on any other day of the year?" he had complained to Grey a few days before. "We do," he added with a grin.
Grey sidled up to Russandol with a smile and slipped his arms around the elf's waist. "People like to be romantic," he said. His expression turned serious and he bit his lip. "I suppose some people don't say it often enough. They need to be reminded."
"That's... really sad." Russandol looked at Grey for a moment. "I never really understood human customs. Would it be appropriate for me to give you something?"
"You mean besides a good blowjob?" Grey smiled again and leaned forward to nibble the tip of Russandol's pointed ear, an act guaranteed to make the elf squirm with pleasure. "You don't have to. I have you, that's all I need."
But the thought had niggled at Russandol for the rest of the week, and on Thursday afternoon, while Grey was at work, Russ went shopping. He came back with a huge card with a picture of a cat holding an enormous pink heart, that said "I love you THIS much" on it. And a bunch of twelve red roses, which he carefully put in a vase on the bedside table. And a large fluffy white teddybear with the words "hug me" on it's tummy. And the largest box of luxury chocolates he could afford.
When Grey returned from work and he saw what Russ had done he was stunned. He stared at all the things Russ had bought, eyes wide. "You bought all of these?" he asked in a quiet voice. Russ nodded. "All for me?"
Russandol bit his lip. "Um.. no," he said, cheeks flushing. "The chocolates are mine."
