[voicesinmyhead] Prompt #24 - Snow
"Mom! Come on! It's snowing!" Ben bounced waiting for his mom to get down the stairs.
"Ben hold on. Patience is a virtue"
"Screw patience!"
"Benjamin Braeden!"
He went quiet and scuffed his toe on the floor and looked up to see his mother standing there with her hands on her hips. "Sorry mom."
"You better be. Now go ahead out and play in the snow. Remember your hat, gloves, earmuffs, and scarf."
"Mom! I'll look like a dork!"
"You'd be a healthy dork."
"You. Are. So. Uncool."
"Ben."
"The chicks will think I'm uncool mom!"
"Now Ben."
"Can I just get my cloves and hat?"
"Fine Ben." She sighed he was just a kid and already was worried about the girls. She pinched the bridge of her nose and groaned dreading when he was a teenager. She looked up in time to see Ben run out into the snow, with sneakers on.
"Ben!"
He skidded to a stop literally and turned and looked at her exasperated. "What now?"
"Boots."
"Oh yeah. Duh!" He ran back in and changed into his cool looking black boots and ran back out. He found one of his friends that was a girl Figures right? They built a snowman and Ben came home after a good old fashioned snowball fight. He felt victorious because he knocked big old Humphrey flat on his ass with a snowball to the head.
"Have fun Ben?"
"It. Was. Awesome!" He went and began recanting his entire day as his mom fixed him a mug of nice hot chocolate adding in more mini marshmallows as she listened to her son's snowy adventures.
