Perhaps I will with my name. When I was born, I was given the name Tom Marvolo Riddle by my dear mother. The inspiration for this name came from my "father" whose name was Tom Riddle as well. However, I am not my father's child for I am not a disgusting, pitiful muggle such as he and his name is a horrible, common muggle name. The only part of my name that has anything to do with my true self is my middle name, Marvolo, for that was the name of my mother's father. But even that name is tainted by poverty and insanity. Therefore I truly belong to no part of my birth name.
The name I took for my true self was born out of my old name. After shifting the letters around in my name, "Tom Marvolo Riddle" became "I am Lord Voldemort", giving me a new name—a more tolerable name. I took this name for myself and turned my back on the name that never did belong to me.
Voldemort is the name I am known by now, even though many fear to say it. When one says or thinks my name in my world, they remember the fear they live in and how my followers—my Death Eaters—terrorize their lives. I'm a Dark Lord and one of the most powerful wizards out there.
