Narcissa,

As the cousin of my brother and I, and as my parents refuse to listen to a word I say, I find myself ~~regrettably~~ having to write you.

I recently found Amycus Carrow in possession of Regulus' ring, with the Black family crest.

I don't know why he would have this, or why Regulus would be so utterly mindless as to give something so precious out to just anyone - or Amycus Carrow, for that matter. I know we disagree about lots of things, but one thing we can agree on is the importance of our family name, and maybe you'll understand my confusion at seeing Regulus - who only ever speaks of being the heir of our family, for all practical purposes - treat it as some joke to let anyone borrow. As if the Black family name is some costume, some joke, a novelty.

Perhaps you can talk some sense into him. He's young and impressionable, so maybe it will take your guidance to get to him.

Amycus Carrow? I don't see why Regulus would be so nilly willy with something that is quite important with the family. Especially since he prides himself on being better than you. Not that you didn't know that already. I could always try talking to him, though I do know that he listens to Bellatrix and values her opinion far more than mine. Though, he and I are a bit too much alike for our own goods and I might be able to do some convincing.

Aside from all that, how was your birthday. I do hope it went well.

Me neither. Sure, I pass off a lot of the mistakes Regulus makes as just juvenile delusions of his, but this is a bit more important. Say what you (or Regulus, or the rest of my family, for that matter) want about my "traitorous" actions towards the family, or how much better he is than me, but you don't see me passing around my family ring like a piece of costume jewelry. . .much less to an embarrassment like Amycus Carrow.

Amycus running about with Regulus' ring is an embarrassment to the Black family line.
Yes, please talk to him. I can't. Especially since he and his friends have been threatening the lives of my friends and their families lately. More than usual.

Oh, but, you know. . .fourth years and their impressionable ideas! Or model Black family behaviour. You tell me.

Truth be told, I would have thought that you'd thrown your ring into the bottom of the lake by now.

You are right, he shouldn't have it. Regulus shouldn't be giving it to anyone. I don't know what your mum would think if she was to find out. We both know she is worse then my mum.

I will be sure to speak with him. If I don't see him soon enough, I will write about my unhappiness and besure to pass the information along to Bellatrix. I'd be more worried about what she has to say.

That is good to know, I am still waiting to go to town with Bella to find your gift. You should get it soon enough.
