Unable to sit still, Tonks stood up again, this time moving to the window so that she could stare out of it. It really didn't look like earth, but at the same time, they could be in the future. Maybe the future was disappointing. Maybe she should have asked bun lady what time it was or something. Or what year. That would be good to know.
"Or someone playing with a time turner and really botching things up," she suggested, pushing the window up so she could stick her head out. She hadn't really paid much attention to the town when heading toward the flat, but now that she looked, it did look like earth. Just a sort of gross earth. It was all shades of brown and gross and the streets were dirty. Tonks made a face and pulled her head back in the window, shutting it behind her.
"...oh, wow," she said. "So... that's soon." Really? She'd just gotten together with Remus and they had a kid that soon. She didn't want to do the math in her head, so she didn't, but that was months from when she remembered. The fact that they were no longer on a whimsical and exciting adventure and the fact that she no longer thought this was a dream sent her crashing back to reality.
