Okay. Tonks was nervous. She'd done this before, but it was already hard the first time. It was harder this time because this was a totally different situation and such. She'd banished Teddy to his room under the guise of he needed to do homework now with no distractions. Now she had taken to pacing and mapping out what she was going to say in her head, then pacing again trying to clear her thoughts. Then she realized scripting things was bad because she couldn't know what he was going to say, so there was no point in figuring out answers to questions he probably wouldn't ask. This was stupid. She felt fifteen again. She hated being fifteen too. That was an awkward age, which was probably why she felt awkward right now.
It was a big decision for Tonks to tell the younger Remus they should just be friends at this point. She liked him and all, but being at two totally different places in their lives just wasn't going to work out. He was a completely different person. She still loved him, but maybe only as a friend. It would work out because this way she and Sirius could be civil again. Hopefully. If Sirius planned to be less of a douchenozzle. The older Remus was closer to the Remus Tonks knew, and rightfully so. He was older for sure and had gone through a lot. They just seemed to have more in common, which was probably why she'd actually gravitated toward him from the beginning. She just wanted to try really hard with her own Remus. Life just hadn't worked out that way.
The knock at the door made her jump. Tonks glanced at it and covered her face, groaning a little before walking to the door, pretending to be calm and not overly eager as she pulled it open. She managed a smile that may or may not have given away her nerves. Tonks didn't really know.
