Who: Tom & Merope What: Tom was found in an empty apartment, and brought back by the government When: After school Where: Their flat Rating: Probably low?
Being brought here, really, wasn't so bad. It was a highly interesting place, and Tom had always been in love with the unexplained. He loved scientific theories in which two things were happening at once, and yet it was completely impossible. This place a was a bit like that; their histories were moving forwards from whenever they came, and yet they were not a part of them. Tom had yet to find out about his own history. It was a combination of him lying about his name, and not knowing anyone from his present. He was terrified at the idea he really did not have a future, so it was better left unsaid. At the moment, Tom had grandiose ideas of great power, fortune, and influence. If someone were to say 'Who?' at the name Tom Riddle, it would absolutely ruin Tom.
There was one problem with this place. His mother. The very woman who had abandoned him the day he was born. He'd never entertained the idea that she was magical. She died, what sort of witch could she be? Tom also knew she was suspicious. She didn't entirely buy the 'Odin Gaunt'. When he made certain expressions her own expression told that she was seeing something else. Someone else. Tom hadn't considered looking like his father. He must, or Merope wouldn't look at him the way she did.
That coupled with his desire to be independent drove Tom to another flat. It wasn't long, however, before a government official was banging the door down and dragging Tom back into the hallway. Though he was tall and had an athletic build, Tom was useless against the large man. He could do nothing but accept this man was literally dragging him back to his mother's. The knocking at the door rattled through Tom's body. He waited patiently until Merope came to the door. The government official gruffly said "Found 'im squatting," before shoving Tom into the apartment to deal with this mother alone.
Obviously, someone was not receiving his letters about living alone.
