An Unexpected Guest Who: Bridget and Chelsea Where: The Royal Star Hotel When: Saturday, February 5th
After doing a string of interviews for her upcoming Vampire/Werewolf movie, Chelsea was ready to cut back and relax for the next three or four days until the movie premiered in Los Angeles, which was why the famous actress made her way into The Royal Star Hotel, dressed in a fabulously clingy black dress that hugged to her every curve with her dark hair curling over her shoulders. She was tired, sure... but she had a smile for those who greeted her and stopped to sign autographs. It came with the job and she was of the mind that it was better to greet people than have them take photos of her from afar. She checked in at the front desk like any other patron and looked around curiously, taking in as much as she could.
Word circulated through the hotel like wildfire when Chelsea stepped through the front doors of the hotel. Her arrival had been unexpected, something Bridget found disturbing once word had reached the hotel's head of security. The normal routine followed when they had guest of such notoriety, was that the hotel was notified AHEAD of time so suitable accommodations and security measures could be arranged.
"Miss Duquette, welcome to the Royal Star." Bridget welcoming the woman as she slipped behind the registration desk.
"Thank you," Chelsea replied with a polite smile to Bridget as she set her travel bag down by her feet. She wasn't your traditional A-List actress. She had no problem carrying her own things and talking to fans when they approached her. Or, had no problem doing things for herself, come to think of it. "Miss?"
"Bridget Bale." The security head said, introducing herself to the other woman. "Royal Star's Head of Security." And while the other woman might not have a problem doing for herself, such as arriving at the hotel unannounced, Bridget had a major problem with it. All kinds of things could go wrong, and then there was the fact that most major stars had fans that weren't working with all their facilities. Also, now there would be the paparazzi to have to deal with. "How long might you be planning on staying with us." Bridget inquired politely, and with a smile.
"Only three or four days," Chelsea replied. "And I assure you, I have no intention of leaving my room," she added. If she'd thought of going elsewhere, she might have thought about hiring a bodyguard for the duration of her stay... but then again, she only ever really hired a bodyguard when a fan was a little too fanatical. "If... that makes your job any easier. I just came to relax."
"The Royal Star will do it's best to ensure you have all the privacy you need, Miss Duquette." Bridget assured the woman with her smile lingering. When it came to the hotel and it's guest, Bridget was quite the professional if nothing else. Excusing herself from the woman for a brief moment, Bridget conferred with the desk clerk about which rooms might be available for the length of time Chelsea Duguette would be staying with them.
"We have the Continental Suite available for the duration of your stay, Miss Duquette." Bridget informed the woman when she turned back to Chelsea. "It's on the 34th floor and is only accessible by elevator with a key. If you will sign in," Bridget requested easing the registration book toward the woman, "I"ll escort you up to your room." She smiled politely.
Only... accessible by key might have been a good idea, come to think of it. Chelsea ducked her head down and picked up the pen, signing the registration book with her left hand. "Please, feel free to call me Chelsea. I'm not a fan of formalities," she explained, meeting Bridget's eyes with a warm smile, before picking up her bag, indicating that she was ready to head up now.
Bridget smiled back to the woman after her signature had been inked into the registration book. "Your room key, Miss Duquette." She said offering the card key to the suite to the woman. And while Chelsea was willing to forgo formalities, Bridget was a bit more professional when at her job. At least when others in lower positions were present. "If you'll come this way." The security head requested with a slight wave of a hand toward the direction of the elevators before she stepped out from behind the desk to start in that direction herself.
Chelsea didn't seem bothered by Bridget's desire to keep things formal and accepted the card key with a 'thank you' before following behind the woman, stopping only once or twice to talk to a few fans along the way. "I'm sorry if this makes your job a little more difficult. I'm not the kind of actress that wears a terrible wig and logs in under Mrs. Pendergast or something. Maybe down the track after I've adopted about half a dozen cats that might change." She sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Sorry. I've had one too many coffees today."
"It's just the unexpectedness of your arrival that has caused a few difficulties, not your actual stay with us, Miss Duquette." Bridget told the woman pleasantly as the pair made the walk side by side to the elevators. "At least you've haven't tossed back one too many." Bridget added with a light smile to try and keep the conversation light and not let her feelings interfere with her job performance.
"There are worse reputations you could find yourself labeled with." Bridget pointed out to the actress just as the pair reached the elevator. A light press of her finger lit the call button and had the elevator car making it's way down from another floor to the lobby. Once it reached their level and the doors parted to allow them access, Bridget indicated that Chelsea step in first, once the arriving passengers had disembarked, before she stepped into the elevator car.
"True," Chelsea smiled and stepped inside the elevator, turning to face Bridget once she was inside. "Of course, there are aspects of my personal life that not even my family are aware of, if you can believe it." One could say that she was a really good actress, hm? She eyed Bridget with a small smirk. "But enough about me. How long have you been working here, Bridget?"
"Since last July when my cousin took over the hotel. Moved out here from L.A. to take the position." Bridget informed the woman as the elevator doors closed. Using the key she had taken from the front desk, Bridget slipped it into the key-lock and gave it a half turn before she pressed the button to the floor Chelsea's suite was located on. "So, this visit of yours to Las Vegas purely pleasure or part that and part business, Chelsea." Bridget inquired casually of the other woman. Now that they were in the elevator car riding up to the thirty-fourth floor, Bridget dropped the formalities for the moment. They were alone after all, and the other woman had asked to be referred to by her first name.
"That's impressive," Chelsea said about relocating. Then again, she basically lived in a suitcase, herself. She'd moved into a new house over a year ago and had still yet to unpack things, as sad as that sounds. As for Bridget's question? "Half and half, honestly. I had a press day, which basically means five minute interviews all day. Very tiring." She laughed.
"Well, we'll make your stay here at the Royal Star as pleasant and relaxing as possible. If you find yourself needing anything at all," Bridget slipped a hand into the pocket of her business jacket then to extract a business style card, "feel free to contact the concierge lounge." She said as the card was offered to the woman.
Chelsea took the card and looked it over, keeping a hold of it, along with the key to get into her room, for the time being. "And if I wanted to get in contact with you, personally, Bridget?"
"You can contact the concierge or the front desk and they'll transfer you on through." Not directly to her, but to the security offices who would then get in touch with her.
Chelsea nodded with a small smile. It seems that someone took their job seriously, huh? "Thank you. I'll be sure to keep that in mind."
When the car stopped and the door glided open, Bridget slipped the key out to give to Chelsea. "This will get you back and forth between floors." She said to the other woman. "And if you might not be to tired later perhaps we could have a drink later." She added with a friendly smile. While she took her job seriously, Bridget did manage to make time for short breaks. And if they happened to involve women as beautiful as Chelsea Duquette, then all the better. Not that she'd go as far as to cheat on Ashleigh, but having a drink and a bit of conversation that might include a little bit of flirting never hurt anyone.
"I'd like that," Chelsea replied, taking the key with a small smile before stepping out of the small elevator. "Just call and let me know when you'd be coming up."
"I'll give you time to relax and freshen up before I give a ring up to your suite." Bridget didn't feel there was any rush to have those aforementioned drinks, the woman did after all just arrive at the hotel. Letting her unwind and relax a bit would only serve to make the woman's company all that more pleasant.
"Thank you," Chelsea replied, smiling warmly. It'd be nice to unwind and just have a chat with someone, honestly and Bridget seemed nice. She just hoped the woman would let her guard down once she was technically 'off hours'. "I'll see you soon."
"I'll see you soon." Bridget returned just as the elevator doors slid closed. Using her own person key, Bridget started the elevator back down on its way to the main floor of the hotel. She was now looking forward to a little break more then before she had shown Chelsea Duquette up to her suite.
