Bring a Gal Home to Mamma
Who: Georgina, Brandon, and Catherine
Where: Georgina's Home
When: Jan 28th, Afternoon
"Yo! Mom! You home?" Ah. As we're seeing, Brandon Bale, visiting from Los Angeles, was every bit the traditionalist that his sister Neely was. Standing outside of his mother's home, hands shoved in the pockets of his jeans, he waited, hoping the woman was home.
Georgie walked up to her door and, after taking a quick peek through the window, opened the door with a smile. "Hi, honey," she said, giving him a tight hug. "What are you doing in town?" This was quite the pleasant surprise.
"Decided to come by for the weekend, see you and Dad, check out Blake's new store..." And then he smirked a little. "Maybe stop by A2 and annoy Bronte for a while..."
She laughed when he said the last part. "Well, they stay busy over there, so I hear, so you may have a hard time annoying her." She peaked behind him. "Your girlfriend with you?"
"Yeah, I figured you should meet her. Finally." Brandon made a hilariously worried face then. "Dad's not here, is he? You know he'll say something embarrassing to her."
She shook her head. "He's actually off doing...god knows what that he does when he's not here annoying me." And she said that as if she wasn't known for putting up with it. Whatever. "Come on in. Can I get you something to drink?"
"Sure...." Brandon laughed, having LONG ago accepted his father for the... rather immature soul he was. "Got any coffee made?" He asked, walking in and taking a look around. "So, funny story... Dad told Rachelle how Neely got her middle name..."
"Yeah, I just made a pot, actually," Georgie said with a smile, which quickly turned into a scrunched up face when Brandon mentioned how Neely got her middle name and how Tom had told the story. "Lovely," she said with a roll of her eyes.
"Luckily, Chelle's as classy as Dad. So she laughed her ass off." He snorted, sitting down on the living room sofa. "I missed ya, Mom. Sorry I haven't visited lately..."
"I've missed you, too," she said to him, reaching over and giving him another hug. "It would be nice if you could visit more often, but I know you're busy in LA." She sighed. "And I swear I'm not trying to be guilt trip mother."
"Naw... you never HAVE been. So how have YOU been doing? You been getting out there and dating?" He kept going then, laughing, "And this SHOWS how much I care about you, because NO son looks forward to thinking about his mother dating."
She laughed and shook her head. "No! God, who would I date? Talk about awkward conversation. 'Oh, by the way: I'm a werewolf from a family of werewolves. So, where's your family from?'" She shook her head.
"Ok, so... point taken. I just want you to be happy, that's all. You're like... the most amazing woman I know." Awww. Whoever saw THIS side of Brandon? "I think it's one of the things that drew me to Catherine. She's strong, smart, witty... kind of like someone ELSE I admire."
"Well, aren't you just charming today?" One thing that he got from his father was his charm. Probably the main reason why Georgie still put up with him was because he was charming, after all. "So, where is Catherine, anyway?"
"The minute we hit Vegas, she saw some stores she wanted to visit. So, she's gonna be here in a bit. I couldn't... get myself to go into ONE MORE store." He admitted, laughing.
She chuckled. "Well, I'm sure that she'll enjoy herself." From the pictures that Georgie had seen, Catherine would probably have a ball at some of the stores on the Vegas strip.
"I mostly brought her here to finally meet you. Just... don't give her a hard time about her hair, ok?" He asked, sounding hilariously like a young kid again.
Georgie laughed. "With all that I put up with from your father, do you think that I'd give *anyone* a hard time?" she asked. "Now really. You know better than that."
"Yeah, yeah... it's just... face it, Mom. In the past, you've been a little... picky about my girlfriends." He snickered, raising a brow. "Remember when I brought Becky Taylor home and you asked her why on earth she would put a metal ring through her nose? Yeah, that went over well..."
Georgie laughed. "Alright, you have a point. Still, now, as long as you're happy, and you obviously are, then I'm not going to worry if they have their face pierced or green hair or whatever now."
"Good. Because Cat's got... well... all of the above." He laughed, giving a 'what are you gonna do?' shrug.
She snorted. "I'll make sure that I'm prepared," she swore."So, how've you been doing besides having a colorful girlfriend?"
"Good. Brennan's back in LA, although I'm guessing he's told you already knew that. So we've been trying to hang out some, and me and Cat just..." he thought of a way to put this... "well, we sort of adopted a temporary house guest..."
"It's good that Brennan's around family again. He sort of needs the influence." She sighed. "You took in a guest?" she asked. That was a little strange. "Did you have any more children from the future pop up?" Might as well ask, right?
"No, nothing like that... this is... um... ok, don't you DARE laugh, because I just can't think of a better way to put this. Cat kinda ran over a teenage prostitute with her car." He hung his head, trying not to laugh at his own wording.
Georgie looked at him for second, trying her best not to laugh before busting out laughing just the same. "I'm sorry!" she said between laughs. "How can I *not* laugh at that!"
"Yeah. Girl's trying to get clean, change her life... we want to help her." He smirked then, scratching the back of his head. "Plus, you know... Cat almost KILLED her..."
"Well, good for you guys for taking someone in," she said, still grinning. OK, this was utterly hilarious. Thankfully, the girl was alright, so they could laugh about it.
"Cat's a good girl. She just wants to help people." And then the kicker. "Plus she already told the girl if she steals her stuff or hits on me, she'll snap her neck."
Georgie chuckled. "Well, then she's more like me than you even realize." She had certainly said that same thing to a girl or two while she was still actually married to Tom, after all.
"Mom... can I ask you something?" Ut-oh... Brandon looked deadly serious now. Maybe he had another reason for this visit, hm?
She tiled her head slightly at him. "Sure. You know you can ask me anything," she told him.
"I've always been kind of... scared of ever getting TOO serious with anyone. Mostly because of watching you and Dad fall apart..." He nervously drummed on his thigh with his fingers, taking a deep breath. "But I really think Cat might be 'the one'. Would you... I mean... do you think it would be dumb for me to, I dunno... think about proposing to her?"
"You really shouldn't base any idea of relationships on your father and I," Georgie pointed out. "You passed your father's maturity when you hit the age of then." Zing of the day! Anyways..."I don't think it would be dumb at all, Brandon. If that's what you want to do, then please do so. For your own sake."
"Thanks, Mom." He said with a relieved grin. "I really was hoping you'd say something like that."
"I'm your mother. My goal in life is to see my kids happy," she pointed out. Just then there was a knock at the door. When Georgie heard it, she got up and answered it, seeing a green haired girl on the other side. "You must be the famous Catherine," she said. "Come on in."
Catherine smiled and walked inside. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you," she said as she walked inside. "I"m sorry that we couldn't visit before."
"Yeah, what can I say? I procrastinate with the best of them. I guess I had to get something other than my looks from Dad, right?" He snickered, looking at them.
Georgie rolled her eyes. "Unfortunately for you then," she said with a slight grin just the same. Yeah, she made fun of his all the time, but apparently she still liked him.
Catherine grinned. "You are a bit late with it," she said simply. "I think this meeting was long overdue."
