Hanging Out
Who: Blake and Josie
Where: Josie's Apartment
When: Sunday Evening
Josie had planned on spending a quiet evening at home alone, working on a painting that she had gotten into lately. While she was doing it in a slightly out of focus style that was reminiscent of a photograph, with the vivid blue eyes, it was pretty obvious that it was of the young man that she had met at Avarice II recently. When you meet someone attractive, sweet, and a little odd like that, it was hard to get them out of your head. Too bad he wasn't a local, but it wasn't like LA was THAT far away, plus, she was going there for Christmas to spend some time with her moms. Hey, family was what the holidays were made for, right?
What with the whole meeting-the-love-of-her-life thing and getting engaged to said love-of-her-life, it should come as no surprise that some (let's face it, most) of Blake's other relationships went a little to the wayside. Fortunately, she finally came around to her senses and decided to hunt Josie down. … Or, stalk her. Whichever works. Dressed in a stunning black dress with matching pumps (that she fully intended to have Gwen go ga-ga over later), the werewolf smirked as she knocked on her friend's front door, "Come out, come out, where ever you areeee!"
Josie actually jerked when she heard someone knock on the door. Luckily for whoever it was, Josie had jerked away from her painting, so she didn't mess it up. She rolled her eyes when she realized who it was. "Just a minute, Blake!" she called out, getting up and stretching, then making her way to the door. "So...no call or anything? You decide to just show up on my doorstep?" she asked with a smirk.
"Must be a family thing," Blake smirked, before catapulting into Josie's arms and giving her a big ole' hug. Sure, Josie wasn't the hugging type, but Blake always went for it. "Or maybe I wanted it to be a surprise, doofus. "How's my second favorite artist?" She asked with a smirk.
Josie did hug her back, even though she wasn't really the touchy-feely type. "Surprises work," Josie said, letting Blake walk fully into the apartment and shutting the door behind her. "I'm doing good. Not apparently as good as you, though. Congrats, by the way." Oh, she had heard about the engagement.
"Thanks," Blake replied, practically beaming. She and Gwen really hadn't gotten around to planning the wedding yet, but they had time. "Kinda cool you've got your own place now, D.G. And who's this yum-yum?" Clearly, she found Josie's painting.
"Who would I live with? Really?" Josie was kind of a loner at heart. If she wanted to be around you, then it was awesome. If she didn't, you'd better stay the hell away. She looked over at the painting. "Someone from LA that was in Avarice II the other night. Has some of the nicest eyes I've ever seen."
"True," Blake replied. "On both accounts. And I SWEAR I'm gonna call this guy 'goodie-goodie-yum-yum' if I ever see him." Yeah, 'cause that'd go over well. "D'you like him, or something?"
"God, PLEASE don't ever actually do that," Josie said with a roll of her eyes. "And he's nice. I mean, not sure if anything can really happen, though. Long distance and such." Josie saying someone was nice meant a lot, though.
"Phone sex works wonders," Blake said with a cheeky grin. Not that she'd... ever done that, mind you. Ahem. "Other than that, talking on the phone's good and it's not like LA and LV are THAT far apart." Why she took an interest here was anyone's guess, really. Maybe she didn't want to see one of her few friends alone.
Josie snorted. "That's not actually the part that I was worried about," she said with a roll of her eyes again. "No, they aren't that far apart. I did get a number, so who knows?"
"All my parts are crossed for you, babe. I mean, as long as he's decent and makes you smile, y'know? 'Cause you've got a gorgeous smile." Being the brat she was, Blake pinched one of Josie's cheeks. "You should do it more often. Speaking of which! You'll never ever EVER guess who's got Bastian smilin' lately." Oh dear GOD, no...
"Well, he seems decent and he made me smile a couple of times," Josie admitted. "So here's to hoping." As for the rest. "Stop being giggly because I've already heard." Like that WOULDN'T get back to Josie eventually. "As long as Momma Meegs isn't directly cheating on Momma Iz, I don't care who she's seeing as long as she's happy doing it." She pouted. "Even if it is icky that technically my buddy is dating my MOM." And rarely did Josie say something cutesy like 'icky,' so apparently it really was. "Please, like I wouldn't find out who one of my mom's is dating."
"Awr, spoil my fun!" Blake pouted, actually flailing a little. "Personally, I always had the hots for Isabella. She always looked like she'd be a DEMON in the sack." That sound you hear? Blake's mun! facepalming. "ANYWAY," yes, moving on, "I think Gwen and I are going to Neely's for Christmas. Like a big family thing. So, that'll be fun. And mildly terrifying for her, given a good 90% of people there are related to me. Although... her adopted dad is here and while he's with someone, maybe she'd rather stay home with him and I'm babbling. I can't help it. Sorry."
"You're such a loser," Josie dead panned to her about most of the babbling about her parents. "If it's going to be that terrifying, then maybe she should just hang with her dad here. I'm sure he won't mind. Plus, isn't Gwen's ex-wife included in all of that family business? Sure, they're all buddy-buddy now, or whatever, but that's still got to make for some awkward talk over the dinner table." She smirked. "'Hey, Skylar, do you still do the thing where you lift your leg over your head in bed?' You know Gwen will ask something like that."
"She would," Blake replied with a snort, before slugging Josie in the arm. "Like I needed the image of Skylar doing that. THANK YOU. I guess it'd be nice to spend our first Christmas together." She wondered briefly what Courtney would be doing (the thought 'her girlfriend' quickly came to mind), but then again, she knew that she wasn't the witches favorite half-sibling, so maybe that wasn't a good idea... "You should totally call yum-yum ... okay, seriously, what's his name? When you're in town. See if he'd like to have an awkward Christmas lunch or dinner or whatever with your family."
"I think I'll spare Samson the fun of having a Christmas lunch with my parents," Josie said with a slight groan. "Those two still get uncomfortable around each other when they are in the same room. Better than fighting, for sure, but still not oh so pleasant." She had also name dropped in that statement, so there.
Blake chuckled and plopped down on the couch, making grabby hands up at Josie. The goof. "Eh, you never know. Maybe things are different now. But, the important part is that you're not stuck here alone. I'd kill you if you did that. I'm not lying. See this face?" She pointed at her expression, which was about as 'sad puppy dog' as you could get. "I don't wanna have to do that."
Josie sat down next to Blake. "I have no intention of trying to really strike it out on my own or anything like that," she said. She didn't feel comfortable being in the same city as her parents, but that didn't mean she wanted to be completely alone, either.
"Good," Blake replied, giving Josie a good cuddle. As much as she'd crushed on the girl in the past, right now she was a friend more than anything. "We need to hang out more. Oh. And. Serious moment here. If Gwen and I decide on a 'serious' wedding. Like, going whole hog. Would you be willin' to be a bridesmaid?"
"As long as you don't stick me in some true hideous monstrosity, I'd love to be a bridesmaid for you," Josie said with a slight grin. "And we should definitely hang out a lot more."
"You'd look freaking STUNNING in a burlap sack and you know it." Blake laughed, actually snorting mid-laugh. "Alright, promise. No hideous monstrosity for you." Blake grinned. Ah! Even talking about wedding stuff had her all giddy. How goofy was that?
"Maybe, but that doesn't mean that I'd want to wear one," Josie said. She could see that Blake was getting extra excited just talking about this stuff. "So, you guys got a day picked out yet, besides just 'after you graduate'?"
"Nope!" Blake laughed. She knew that she and Gwen would have to sit down and talk about it EVENTUALLY, though. "We generally get all horizontal, sometimes even vertical, before we get the chance." Annnnnd moving on. "Plus, with the new business and school, it gets kinda hard. She and I have a lot of the same taste though, so it'll be perfect when it happens."
Josie blinked. "Wow...talk about TMI," she said with a shake of her head. "If you guys need any help with the new business, let me know. Sure, don't know anything about comic books, but whatever."
"No, TMI would be telling you what we DO while horizontal." Ahem. "But. If you're willing to be oggled by my fiance and unwashed nerds, you're welcome to come by whenever you want. Pick up a few extra shifts, or help with the books."
"Because being oggled is a change from my everyday life," Josie deadpanned. "Sure. I'll make sure to stop by sometimes. Give me the address."
"Yeah. I guess that you can't help that you're gorgeous," Blake teased, before scribbling down the address on a piece of paper, as requested.
Josie looked at the address then pocketed it. "So...do I need to call before I drop by or anything?"
"Nah." Blake waved it off. "If I'm not there, Gwen'll be. And if we're BOTH not there, chances are we aren't far or anything." It took a LOT of restraint not to mention the Sin Den on her part. A LOT.
God, Josie was half expecting a Sin Den from those two. "Alright, I'll keep that in mind."
