Admitting the Truth
Who: Bella and Chris
Where: Avarice II
When: Tuesday Evening, 11/23
Since, really, he still didn't particularly know many good hangouts that weren't casinos or titty bars around here, Chris had called Bella and asked her to meet, once again, at Avarice 2, to talk about a few things that had been on his mind. As she was not only his hopefully, soon-to-be girlfriend, but also one of his only friends outside of his band mates, he thought of her immediately. So now, he walked into the club, as usual dressed down in baggy jeans and a Megadeth hoodie, hands stuffed in his pockets as he looked around for her.
Bella was already there, wearing a yellow dress and sipping a coke as she sat at a table, waiting for him. He had sounded a little...funny, on the phone, so she couldn't help but feel a tiny bit worried about him or what he had to say. When she saw him, she gave him a wave.
"Hey, Bells..." He said with that deep-but-friendly voice when he saw her. Walking to her, he actually let out a low whistle and laughed. "Damn... do you ever NOT look like a million bucks? Christ."
"Sorry, guess it's just in my genes," she said with a smile and shrug. If he knew who her mother was, well, he'd probably believe her. "So, what's up?"
"Damn. I wish *I* was in your jeans." He smirked, knowing full well what she MEANT. "Anyway... yeah, I had a few things to talk to you about. Some goofy, some serious."
"Well, you wanna do serious and get it over with, or goofy to try and soften any blows?" Bella asked with a raised eyebrow. God she hoped that this wouldn't totally suck. She really liked this guy.
"Right. Well." He sat down across from her, hilariously fretting, his hands fidgeting non-stop. "I... um... I don't even know how to EXPLAIN this. Well... there's a reason I wanted to get in touch with the people at Full Moon Records, ASIDE from the more obvious reason of wanting them to hear my music."
"OK..." So, this might have something to do with just what she naturally sensed in him, then, eh? "If you say you're a werewolf, I swear to god that I'm going to crack up until I fall out of this chair." If she was wrong, then it was a joke. If not...
He just blinked at her, eyes narrowing. "Ok, I get it. Full Moon. Har har. But... I mean..." Yeah, he thought she was making a JOKE. "What is... I mean..."
OK, so totally just busted his bubble. Actually kind of funny. "Chris, it's OK, really. I kind of sensed it from the beginning. I suppose I should tell you a little more about myself then, huh?"
"Wait... you... you're serious?" He asked, seemingly in shock here. "What do you mean you sensed it?"
"Have you ever heard of a Slayer, Chris? And I don't mean the band," she told him. "It's a girl that fights evil things and basically runs around stopping the world from ending. Well, I'm kind of one of many now."
".....get the fuck out." He blurted out before starting to chuckle. Of all the luck... "So wait... all this time, I've been worried about explaining to you what I am... and you SUSPECTED it? And you don't care?"
"...should I?" she honestly asked. "Because it doesn't bother me. I mean, compared to MY life, just being a werewolf is a breeze." Sad but true. "Which I guess means I should tell you why I *really* have such a good in with the Bales at Full Moon Records." She sighed. "Kind of a long story, but, to shorten it significantly, I'm apparently from a future that no longer exists, I was *technically* only born about a year or so ago, my biological parents are Pat McConnell and Skylar James-Bale, and my step-dad is Ben Bale." She gave him a slightly nervous smirk. "Freaked out yet?"
"Freaked out? Jesus... outside of sounding like a sci-fi episode of Springer, that's... kind of AWESOME! You're like... the daughter of two of the most amazing performers I've seen recently!"
She snorted. She couldn't help it. "Wow...you took that a lot better and willingly than I thought you would," she admitted. "So, why did you need to see the Bales? Other than general werewolf-ness and stuff?"
"Because I'm the last wolf left of my family. I fled Russia to come here, because the rest of my family was murdered. And I guess... I'm scared. And hoping they could help protect me." And when a huge, muscle-bound werewolf is talking about being scared and needing protection? Shit just got real.
"Well, I know they can, and I know Ben totally will," she said to him, reaching over and resting her hand on top of his. "And if he tries to be bitchy about it, I'll totally make him by guilt tripping him or something. I have SO much I can hold over his head." She smirked again.
"I kinda love how protective of me you are." He admitted, an adorable blush creeping onto his cheeks as he said it. "Ok... now for the goofy part."
Well, at least they seemed to have gotten through the serious stuff. "Alright, fine. Let's get to the goofiness and enjoy it," Bella said to him with a chuckle. "Hit me with your worst."
"Evidently, Ben doesn't know we're... um... dating? I hope we're dating, anyway. Um... he took one look at me and said something about wanting to stick me on some dating show. Something about tons of 'hot bitches' wanting a piece of a hot young talent." He snickered, before admitting, "And honestly... the fact that I hope there's something real starting between us is the only reason I said no."
Bella couldn't help but laugh. "Oh my god! He's really doing that?" she asked, still laughing. "Well, I'm glad that you said no or I would have been pissed!" She took a deep breath and took a sip of her drink to try and catch her breath. "I think there's something real starting between us for sure, though." She giggled. "I don't even want to imagine who else he asked to do that."
"Actually... he said he came to me because Pat McConnell bailed out last minute." He thought about it and loudly snorted. "Dude... your DAD was gonna do it???"
Her face dropped. "Ah whu?" she asked, her mouth actually dropping open. "But...he's married to Patience! What the hell is going on that he's nearly going on a dating show!" Apparently she had missed something, hadn't she?
"Oh... balls." He said, paling visibly. "Never thought I'd be the one having to tell you this..." He babbled slightly, wincing a bit. "Maybe you should call home more, babe. Ben said Pat's wife walked out on him, and that they were trying to stick him on the show because he's been all despondent and not talking to anyone since it happened."
"Well...I do usually...but I've been doing some extra training lately and...well I thought someone would call me over this!" she wailed. "I think I need to call my mom...or someone tonight." She actually wasn't sure who'd she call first. Also, she'd probably whip Patience's ASS if she ever found her at this point.
"Sorry, babe... if I knew that was your FAMILY I woulda said something sooner... or at least told Ben to call you. My guess is he figured you knew." He kind of felt bad for Bella... yet also found her angriness kind of hot.
"I know...but you didn't know or anything like that," she said to him. "He probably did figure that I had called Pat lately or something like that..." Which she was totally going to do tonight, and then possibly call and scream at either Ben or Skylar just out of frustration.
"I can't believe all this... I mean... here I was worried you'd think I was freaky for being a werewolf..." He laughed, more at himself, resting his forehead in his hand.
She snorted. "Please," she told him. "My life is like, the ruler of weird." And she hadn't even told him about the amnesia part yet. She was still hoping that there would be some sort of way of fixing it one day or another.
"Well... as long as I'm gonna get to be part of it, I don't care HOW weird it is. And trust me..." He snorted, rolling his eyes. "In my head? That sounded way less lame and way more romantic."
"You know, I took it in completely the romantic way," she said with a smirk, leaning forward and giving him a quick kiss on the lips.
"Do I still seem romantic is I admit that I pretty much picture you naked at least twice a day?" He asked, that goofy, boyish grin twinkling with mischief.
That just made her giggle. "That just makes you normal," she pointed out to him. "What? I'm totally hot. You should be picturing me naked right now."
"Oh, believe me, I am." He admitted with a shrug. "You're like.... supermodel hot, girl."
"Then we're in agreement," she said playfully. "And I've been picturing you naked, too, so we're in mutual stuff here."
"Oh, as my drummer will attest to, I look DAMN good naked." He said without a hint of humbleness. "Trust me... it's not like we dated once because we have SO much in common..."
She laughed. "Well, good to hear," she told him. "I mean, you are totally hot in my head, but it's good to hear that my idea of you in my head is probably correct." Or at least close.
"Hey, I spend hours working out. Every day. So yeah... I'm freakin' RIPPED." Ok, he was CLEARLY playing now, as while he knew he was a good looking guy, he wasn't THIS egotistical...
"Oh I bet," she said, obviously in on the joke. "I'm sure you spend like, twelve hours a day at the gym between band practice and hanging out with me. So, when do you sleep?"
"Sleep? Please. REAL men don't need sleep, you know." He said, making a show of playfully flexing his arms, as... well... face it. He DID have a set of guns on him.
She arched her eyebrows happily when he did so. "OK, we might need to leave soon if you keep doing stuff like that," she told him. Seriously, SO hot.
"Right." He said with a laugh, still thinking she was just teasing. He actually kind of thought of himself as almost beneath her a little. "Seriously though... any idea what you'd like to do tonight?"
Well, she had really only been about HALF kidding, but anyways..."Hang out, maybe dance a little...I'm pretty much up for anything."
"Let's get out on that dance floor then. Shake our groove things. Or... or something that sounds a little cooler." He laughed, unable to help but think how hilarious that show COULD have been, but still happy with his decision. "Just being with you is great for me..."
She smiled and stood up from her chair. Sure, if she wasn't dating him, the show of him COULD have been hilarious. She still knew that, after she left him for the night, she was calling Pat, no matter WHAT time she woke him up at.
