The night hadn't been too terribly busy, which was nice. Charlie could only truly appreciated a packed bar when she was performing, when she was bartending she secretly only ever wanted people to go home. Being that she had was bartending, not too busy was good news and allowed her ample opportunity to sneak out the back to smoke.
As she lit her cigarette, she pulled over one of the white plastic chairs that sat out back facing the woods that were less than a stone's throw away. Charlie sat, taking a long, thoughtful drag and crossed her legs at the knee. She swung the leg on top back and forth boredly and after a few minutes of sitting and smoking quietly, she started to hum. Only a few bars into humming, she started to sing, "Breeze driftin' on by, you know how I feel." Feelin' Good had always been one of her favorite songs and it was constantly getting stuck in her head. Looking up at the dusky sky, she sighed quietly and reverted back to humming. It wasn't even night yet and she was already bored out of her mind. Tonight was going to be unbearable.
