Daniel was expecting answers, but for his actual answer to come out of no where, into his arms, in a pool of tears was the last thing he expected, and quit honestly, the last thing he wanted. After all, girls wasn't really something he quite had the experience in, let alone crying girls. Not that it mattered, Rory herself was someone unpredictable to him, especially since she just dashed off without saying a word after having danced with him at the ball. He honestly shouldn't even be surprised that she surprised him yet again.
For a couple of seconds, Daniel found himself stone still in surprise as Rory held onto him and began to break down, before the girl finally spoke and all he could will himself to do was awkwardly pat the back of the girl's back. At Rory's question though, Daniel had to stop himself, his hand stilling on Rory's back. If he was to honestly answer that question, then well, he could only logically assume that it wouldn't help Rory's already broken state. After all, he was still at the odds with her and her lack of hope. "Er," He began, frowning, unsure if there really are any right words to answer the question. A long flow of silence filled the air as he tried to come up with something. "Where were you today?" Daniel found himself saying, instead of answering the question, not exactly sure he really could answer it either.
