Ansel paused. Had he just offered to elaborate? He replayed his words in his head. Yes, to some it would seem he had. Computer ready he turned it on and sat down at the desk prepared to make sure everything was running smoothly before he left. No need to leave and become engrossed in another project if she was only going to call him back for some minor glitch he could assess and get rid of now.
“Former or current? I suppose that would be the correct question. Everyone has their own problems even if you don’t see them. Sometimes they die before you see them,” Ansel said, not quite paying attention to his words as he focused on the computer.
He paused again as the words hit him. Well that was rather morose.
Perhaps if he suggest a person it wouldn’t be so awfully sad.
“Perhaps Ms. Lane could use a sounding board,” he suggested slowly with the hesitation of a man who on some level that Penny would find out about this and not be pleased. Still, he had already started, “She is going through a difficult time accepting that she is no longer a ranger. Perhaps you could suggest one of the teaching positions her that she could fill as such a decision would keep her here where her support system seems to be.”
