"Ohhhhh, no, no, no, no, no," he answered quickly. He shook his head side to side, chin tucked in as though the very thought of having to go shopping with a girl was the most horrific thing to happen to him. "You can't do that to me. These uhh... these shoes are great!" His voice cracked a bit in the middle of the sentence and he turned beet-red right up through his hair. "So yeah." He laughed without his voice; there was always something to be embarrassed about these days. Too many girls. Not enough confidence to take them all on.
"Rangery... uh, Rangery lunches would be like... um, you know... powerful foods. Stuff with lots of protein and stuff." He flexed his muscles, pursing his lips to make a big deal out of it. There was no problem getting him into the car and he very quickly fell down onto the seat and sank into it, bringing his feet in to pull the door shut behind him. "Sweet ride," he teased her lightly.
