It all happened so fast. One moment Nic was reacting, barreling past him, then Ethan was yelling then Charlie was on the ground. He’d barely had time to access what was happening. React, he had to react. He turned himself into two people. One stood their ground between Charlie and the monster, the other raced towards the monster, towards his friends.
He really hoped Evita was still safe in Angel Grove.
Hank’s orders changed the rotation a bit. He waited till Ethan got to Charlie and then was just one person pulling out his blaster and fighting the monster. The dog was vicious, ugly. Who would do that to a dog?
And barreling past them to…?
Quinn felt suddenly cold. All those people on the bus and now Lindsey there, standing alone, between them and the monster. He didn’t think, he reacted. Splitting himself in two he put the duplicate right next to Lindsey and then turned himself into one person again, always before he’d absorbed the duplicate into himself, never the other way around.
“Never done that before,” he commented as he shot his blaster in tandem with Lindsey.
