"Nah, I'm good." Lindsey waved briefly and leaned all the harder on Jake when the waiter came over, not at all ashamed to be all over someone in public. He could do what he wanted for the most part and get away with it these days. "If I get hungry later, I'll just reheat the burger Charlie made me yesterday."
Jake waited until he had pulled out his wallet and handed the waiter a credit card before looking at Lindsey again. "What kind of burger?" No one ever made Jake food...which on one hand was good, but he felt left out. "I can cook." he said suddenly, "I could cook for you sometime. I'm damn good at it." And modest, of course!
Lindsey laughed, tucking back some of his hair to shrug. "Sure, that sounds like a plan. You gotta make me something real good, though. Charlie just makes like... y'know, the normal kinda burger. Whatever. Greasy and good for your heart and all that."
"Greasy is NOT good." Jake said, sounding appaled. "I can make a good burger. Tasty, with just a kick of spice, and almost any side dish you want." He paused, "Healthy side dish. I can bake a little too, but I try not to. Adina and Penny would never let me hear the end of it if they knew I make chocolate cakes all the time." The waiter came back and Jake wrote on the reciept, adding a nice tip. "Well...shall we go? We can go back to the school or whatever you'd like." Jake gave Lindsey a dazling smile.
