Megan rolled her eyes. "Oh, sure. Trying to put me out of business is what you're doing." She laughed. "Flashing that smile, distracting all my workers."
She eyed Elizabeth for a moment, before easing her way around the bookshelf and toward the counter. Leaning against it, her eyes drifted between the two of them.
"Megsy and Mikey?" Elizabeth asked. "Are you two, like, a thing?"
Megan felt her cheeks pinken, and she cleared her throat a little. "Us? No. We're just friends." She pretended not to notice how Elizabeth's face lit up at the realization.
