"I wish she could see that," Charlotte said with a small sigh. "Unfortunately, she doesn't listen to me. I wish there were someone who could take her in hand, or at least watch over her, but she'll ignore anything I do or say." She didn't go into any more detail, as it would be inappropriate to share so much of family problems with an outsider, but she hoped it was enough for Theodore to get the hint. He'd always been clever, though; she was confident that he would. It was just a matter of whether he'd take it.
