Shaking her head, Astoria argued, "You said I seemed like a nice girl, but I'm not." Nice girls didn't lead boys on when deep down they knew nothing could happen. She'd only hurt herself and Justin by following her impulsive whims. "So I guess you aren't a very good judge of character."
He'd been trying to get her to let him replace the shoes for awhile? Did that mean they'd talked quite a bit? Surely not. More like he pestered her, probably. "Do you talk to my sister often?" Astoria decided to ask.
