Michael wouldn't understand subtlety if it knocked him round the head and then stayed for dinner. Poor Terry.
Mandy looked from Michael to Terry. Years of sharing the same house and most of the time she just shook her head at them.
This time a small, semi-amused laugh escaped her lips.
Michael tried not to look too terribly shocked.
"I'm not really a 'go out to bars' type of person," Mandy reminded, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, "But I'm sure you'll have a good birthday whether I'm there or not, Michael."
"Well, since I'm so gracious enough to not ask for gifts, you could grace me with your presence? I promise I won't act too obnoxious. Terry will keep me in check. Right, Terry?" Michael poised himself as if he wore a shining, golden halo and never did any wrong.
