Who: Harry Potter and Rodolphus Lestrange
When: Bookstore Bloodbath
Rating: PG-13
What: Rodolphus and Harry face off. One Shot.
The bookstore attack had been ongoing for about twenty minutes – Natalie was nothing more than ash at the moment, the wooden framework of the bookshop had collapsed in on itself and people were fleeing.
Sending a blinding hex at a nearby middle-aged wizard, Rodolphus twirled his wand pleasantly when a wave of white light rushed past and landed on the ground with enough force to shake everyone in a nearby radius.
For a moment, Rodolphus paused before turning at the same moment that the voice bellowed, “Rodolphus!”, and fired a cruciatus into the form of Harry Potter.
Harry twisted out of the way and immediately sent a disarming spell at the Renegade King.
“You’ve overestimated yourself today –“ Harry snapped, facing down the eldest Lestrange brother for the first time in years.
“They’ve always called me a little pompous- Avada Kedavra!” Rodolphus snapped.
Harry quickly conjured a slab of stone which the spell smashed into.
A duel commenced; Rodolphus throwing dark curses and Harry using defensive charms and disarming spells.
“You haven’t changed at all-“ Rodolphus laughed, his voice holding the same mocking tone as his dead wife. “Pathetic, Potter-“ A slashing hex tore open the right arm of Harry’s auror uniform.
Harry didn’t flinch as blood blossomed from his exposed skin and barely blinking, a spell fell from his lips, sending what seemed to be a giant whip of electricity at Rodolphus’ chest.
Not expecting it, Rodolphus was unable to even attempt a block and the attack hit with a tremendous crack – sending him flying into the wall of the nearby flowershop. Blood poured of his mouth as he slumped over coughing, but despite his extensive injury, in the split second before Harry’s trapping spell hit him, he had vanished.
The rest of the deatheaters immediately followed.
Harry stood in the middle of the battlefield, wand high, and felt the sinking feeling of déjà vu.
