The Bookstore Bloodbath

As Natalie Thompson began her long talk on how she had met her husband and worked through the inevitable problems of a magic-muggle mix, the security perimeter was tight. There was a constable at every nook and cranny, another checking identification of patrons at random intervals – it was solid.

Yet, in the very back of the security perimeter, next to Millie’s Cookies – lay an old, abandoned floo portal. As, Natalie had just reached the middle of her talk – her voice tremoring with the memory of her wedding day, the floo burst to life and dark, hulking figures emerged.
A rabid grin tilted Rodolphus’s lips as he twirled his wand – “Party time.”

They were under specific orders. No killing anyone other than muggleborns. No engaging in unnecessary battles with order members. No taking on Harry Potter.

“Excuse me-“ Rodolphus had pointed his wand to his throat, his loud voice echoing through the bookstore and beyond, “But don’t you feel as if after all those days of your people burning ours at the stake that your world does not quite deserve any entrance into ours?”
Natalie looked about, confused as to where the sound of the voice was coming from.

Spencer Capper, chief constable was shouting into his lapel to get to the back of the store.

But it was too late.

“No? Well, why don’t we give you a bit of a taste-“

And from the new Dark Lord’s wand came a stream of searing flames that burst through the back of the bookstore, engulfing the stage – and Natalie whole.

“Go.” He nodded toward the deatheaters and with smiles, they approached the screaming crowds.
