The Autumn Ball
Malfoy farms was resplendent. As the ball attendees approached in their various carriages, brooms or on foot they were greeted with the image of the imposing manor brightly lit from within. Tiny fairies flew here and there, throwing sparkling golden powder in the air. The gardens were strung with lanterns, crackling torches and twinkling lights – silky white sheets covering tables filled with foods.
A bartender was throwing bottles in the air while the masked guests who had already arrived oohed and ahhed at his talents. The drink of the evening was a special concoction that Parvati and the bartender had designed together: Autumn Crisp. A slightly bitter and sweet drink that fizzled in the mouth and was a startling orange even through the thick walls of the heavy bottomed glass it came in.
It was the first of its kind for Veritas and it was beautiful.
