Who: Astoria Greengrass and OPEN Where: Veritas Cafe (does it have a name?) When: Sunday evening What: Astoria decides to be semi-social and goes to the cafe to people-watch. While there, she runs into...
Needing a break from the store after another hectic day of robe-selling (made even more hectic than usual due to the upcoming ball), Astoria decided to go to the town's local cafe for dinner. She usually ate at home, but for some reason she thought some time out in public would do her good. She could be around people and not worry about them harassing her about different robe sizes, colors, or fabrics.
She remembered one of the Weasley twins mentioning that the cafe was a good place to socialize, so she figured it was a good place to people-watch as well. Astoria rarely socialized of her own free will. After locking up the shop, she headed down the street and arrived at the cafe a few minutes later. Entering the establishment, she immediately began walking toward the back, selecting a small table for two in a corner. She carefully eyed the seat of the chair for anything that might soil her robe, before sitting down with her back facing the wall. From there, she could observe people without being too obvious -- just how she liked it.
Picking up the menu from the table, she made a show of pretending to look at it, as if trying to decide what to order. In reality, she was surveying all of the other customers, trying to decide who would be the most entertaining to watch. She was so engrossed in this activity that she didn't even notice the other person approaching her until they were literally right beside her.
